Above you can see my Prezi presentation about my desired target and what I have noticed about the audiences of other magazines, and what they do in order to appeal to them. I started by addressing my target audience and what sort of people are most likely to be included in them. Furthermore, the results from a poll that I placed onto my blog for others to fill out were used in this present to represent the ways in which the audience act and what their preferences are and what is needed for them inside a magazine.I believed this to be vitally important in the pre-production of my magazine as it gave me a clear idea of how to make my magazine appeal to the audience, and which key features were going to have to be included in order to make my magazine successful and out-shine its competitors. Next, I selected which methods of advertising I was going to use in order to appeal to my audience, and which ones they are most likely to see. I feel as though this was also key research as this is the most important way to create a star image for my magazine and to get it up and running off of the ground. Finally, I constructed a YouTube video of interviews from my potential target audience so that I could find out peoples personal preferences and see each person's diverse opinion on what they think should be included in their ideal magazine. This again came of great importance as it highlights to me what needs to be done in order to reach the expectations and fully satisfy my customers.

In todays lesson I decided to focus mostly on my contents as I believe this page to be the weakest out of all of the pages I have produced so far. I started the make over by firstly changing the general layout of the page by changing the masthead position on the page but also by adding in the email, issue and date. These were previously missing, but are generally seen on all magazines so I had to make space for them to be included. Next, I added the logos for YouTube, Twitter and Facebook to promote that my magazine is using social media in order to keep up with the changing times in the market where the online following and purchases are becoming more common. Finally, I decided to add a more decorative strap-line for "RVM" as I believe this will now draw importance and attention to this leading article.

Diary Entry #10

In our first week back after the christmas break, we first sat down as a group and established that we needed to start creating our evaluation for our products and the task in whole. We were set the homework of completing the first stage of our evaluation, and this question was: "In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?"
Once we had established what we had to get done for next week, we were sent away to our computers and told to load up all of the work we had created in photoshop. We then get up and moved around and visited other peoples work and left anonymous notes on their work about how they could improve their work and gave constructive criticism in order to assist them in developing their work. I believe this to be a very successful and useful task as it informs us how we can make our work appeal to the masses; as we had received feedback from a varied audience but also from people inside my target group.
Finally, you can see the feedback I received in my "Feedback" post and therefore notice what kind of notes I would have left on other people's work.
Schedule

My schedule for my AS media studies production of a magazine was created in order to give me a clear guideline each week of what I was meant to be doing it, and when I was supposed to have finished it by. I believe that this is a very useful part of my initial planning stage as it gave me a strict time schedule, but also informed me that if I wanted to make room for more contingency time, I was going to have to rearrange my whole plan and move everything further along in my time plan. Overall, I think that the plan will give me a better understanding of the tasks and when I am going to have completed them by; thus resulting in a more efficient management of my time and the task as a whole.
Feedback

This week in media studies I reported what I had completed so far to the rest of my class. Firstly, I opened up of all my magazine pages on Adobe Photoshop CS3 and then let the rest of the class use the Notes Tool in order to leave their analysis around the outside. They then looked at all of my work and gave constructive criticism into how I could improve my work and make improvements over the forthcoming weeks. I then took in the majority of the feedback as it gave me a clear insight into what needed to be changed in order to make my magazine more appealing, but also what needed to be done in order to meet the needs and expectations of my target audience. I chose to get a wide variety and large number to look at my magazine and leave feedback on every page so that I would know how to improve every page that I had created. I believe that this was a very worthwhile experience as it gives me an idea of what needs to be done so that I can achieve the best mark possible and look the most professional that it possibly can.

This is the timelapse from the photoshoot that I did for my magazine and clearly demonstrates how I constructed the photoshoot to generate the pictures for my magazine. However, it also highlights the professional equipment which I used and what the general layout of the overall magazine was. Furthermore, I used another Canon 550D in order to capture the timelapse. I did this by setting the camera to capture images every ten seconds and had it resting on a tripod at the back of the class. I feel as though this was effective as it makes the reader feel included in my photoshoot and as if they were there when I was taking the images.
